This is how it goes:
1. Reply to this post with "UNICORNS", and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.
The gorgeous, fabulous, wonderful sgamadison —
chose these five icons for me...
My default icon. Made by the talented fivealive —
. Sherlock and John out of their element, how could I resist? I love this because it removes them from the cramped chaos of London and puts them in the middle of the wide and haunting expanse of Dartmoor - and they're still so them
. Actually not my favourite episode of Sherlock - or my favourite of the canon stories (Holmes and Watson spend far too much time apart) but I love this icon.
Bonus question from sgamadison — How easy is it for you to change your default icon when that is how people 'recognize' you?
Honestly, very easy. I change as I feel like it. It hadn't really occurred to me that people would recognise me by my icon; 1) because I don't post very much, and 2) because I look at names as well as icons when scrolling my flist because I know how often I change my own default.

. This is an icon I uploaded for a specific purpose. I realised pretty quickly into my LJ life that it was a place where people shared more than just the odd bit of fanfic. LJ was quite a lifeline to many people and daily I would read posts about hard times or good times, about upset or excitement, about drama and squee. I needed an icon that would make people smile if I commented and backed up the statement of my comment - this fit the bill perfectly. Especially if times were hard. It was a great way to leave a message saying, "I'm here if you need me," and back it up with pretty boys. Sad day? Have a little John being goofy, it works for Rodney. It's like a hug in an icon. I use it a lot. :-)
I needed a Vala icon. Period. Claudia Black as Vala is pretty high on my list of 'Women I'm gonna marry one day.' I love this picture of her, she looks beautiful. That's it really. Totally shallow, pretty, icon. Perfect for the times when none of the boys will do.
This remains one of my favourite scenes in White Collar. It was just so beautifully done - it genuinely moved me. I thought having this particular exchange was pretty brave of them as it clearly shows men experiencing emotion
without being hackneyed or OTT. How can you not love the moment when Neal tells Peter he didn't come to say goodbye because Peter was the only one that could have made him stay?! Gorgeous!
Look at Watson's face. Just look at it. Look at the way he is looking at Holmes. That's why I love this icon. Sherlock Holmes is a dear and eternal love of mine; I find him endlessly fascinating and I adore the relationship between Holmes and Watson. They're a duo that stay with you from the moment you pick up your first Conan Doyle - they've proved to be timeless and ageless. And, any incarnation that has Watson looking at Holmes like he knows him inside out and still holds him dear even though he can be an absolute shit is alright in my book.
Bonus icon waffling)
Because there are many days when I feel like shattering into a million pieces and remaining as shards; and on those days, only Viggo will do.
Wanna play? ;-)
Hope you're happy and well, dearest flist.
